Our theatre group is sorting donated costumes for a small production. Two coats fit the same actor yet give completely different impressions. That has made me curious about the vocabulary used in personal style systems. I saved a reference on color and body type analysis as a starting point for the discussion. We need a practical catalogue that lets the next volunteer compare pieces without guessing. I would record shoulder construction, fabric weight and where each piece holds its shape. I do not want costume labels to become permanent descriptions of the actors. The notes also need to work when a replacement actor borrows the costume, so I want observations that remain attached to the garment. Is there a useful way to translate body type vocabulary into observable garment details? One worked example with a structured garment would make the distinctions easier to follow.
