My current illustration exercise involves drawing the same outfit in several proportions. The captions should identify visible features without relying on a familiar celebrity example. An exaggerated pose makes it hard to tell what comes from the garment itself. I put body shape and colour analysis on my reading list while looking for clearer terminology. My first check would be a simple front view beside the more expressive drawing. The next layer would show garment boundaries, major seams and changes in volume. I would compare the silhouettes in grayscale before adding notes about color. Our tutor asks us to distinguish observation from interpretation, and I want the cards to make that distinction visible to the whole class. Does anyone have a classroom exercise for checking whether a style description is reproducible? I would appreciate a method that works with simple sketches and clearly stated observations.
