Our next reading group session compares two books about personal style systems. One author starts with measurements, while the other emphasizes the overall visual impression. We would like to understand the categories without assigning labels to everyone present. I noted a resource about color and body type analysis among the references we might examine. I plan to record what each label means and which observations are supposed to support it. Another useful question is whether the same person receives a different label in different outfits. That should reveal where a system describes clothes and where it makes claims about bodies. We will use the same questions for both books, and record disagreements rather than assume that matching labels always mean matching ideas. Which borderline example would you use to compare two systems fairly? It would help to state the rule explicitly before describing why the example challenges it.
