For a library reading circle, I am preparing an exercise on what happens when style guides disagree. The same outfit feature is praised for continuity in one book and criticized for lacking definition in another. The disagreement seems to involve different definitions of balance rather than a simple error about a measurement. We could sketch the same neutral outfit twice and change only the feature under discussion. One topic for the accompanying reading is color and body type analysis and I want participants to distinguish an explanatory framework from a personal preference. What would make this a fair comparison rather than an exercise designed to confirm one system? I would welcome a simple discussion structure that keeps observations, interpretations, and individual preferences separate. We will record the reasons behind each recommendation before comparing the drawings, so that different definitions remain visible throughout the discussion.
