I am preparing a student portrait series in which the styling changes but the lighting stays consistent. Our model is happy to experiment as long as the hairstyle can return to normal that evening. The visual idea we have written down is blonde hair with pink bangs for this project. Clip in pieces are the option we are considering because colouring the natural hair is not part of this project. I want the fringe to look like part of the hairstyle instead of an unrelated prop placed across the forehead. There is one rehearsal slot available for checking the outline and adjusting the placement. I will keep the background and camera position consistent so we can compare the styling choices fairly. We will ask the model to check the fit for comfort before deciding which version to use for the finished assignment. I would welcome suggestions about making a temporary fringe accent sit naturally in close portraits.
