Our family is sorting old portraits, and I am writing a few descriptive notes for each. The same relative appears at different ages, sometimes facing forward and sometimes turning slightly. I can describe the jaw or forehead separately, yet I hesitate to assign one face shape label. I saved a <a href=https://faceshapequiz.top>face shape test</a> to help me think about the terminology. My intention is to gather useful terms while acknowledging what the photograph does not clearly show. For example, a shadow may obscure the jaw, while a hairstyle may cover part of the forehead. I plan to note the viewpoint and approximate date before adding any tentative description of the outline. Conflicting impressions should remain visible in the notes instead of being resolved by an unsupported guess. What wording would keep these observations useful to relatives without presenting a tentative label as fact?
